Thanks to Shirley Burnham for letting us know about a radio programme that will be covering the subject of library closures tomorrow.
A non-political group, concerned about losing resources they find valuable (their libraries) are planning a demonstration at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in Cockspur Street, off Trafalgar Square, London at noon tomorrow.
BBC Radio 4’s ‘You and Yours’ programme will be covering the demonstration organised by the Lewisham libraries campaigners, with the coverage being followed by discussion.
It is understood that Tim Coates, who on the invitation of VB, visited the Isle of Wight back in February to present alternatives to closing nine of the eleven libraries, has been asked to contribute from the BBC’s studios in New York, USA.
Tune in from noon tomorrow to hear the coverage and discussion.
