Readers may remember the outrageous incident that happened to Isle of Wight band The Mechanix last month after their band’s van and equipment was stolen and torched.
A fundraising event is planned for next month in order to help raise money for the band to be able to replace some of the lost equipment – much of which was rare and collectable.
Three Island bands have already been confirmed as the music community pulls together and organiser Zoe Thompson says they will be bringing together a “genuinely mixed and exciting line up of some of the Islands greatest artists”.
The event takes place at Coburgs in Ryde on Friday 23rd November 2012.
