Tonight sees the launch of a new TV series called Best of Britain by the Sea.
Earlier in the year, celebrity TV Chef Ainsley Harriott MBE and journalist, broadcaster and author, Grace Dent toured the Isle of Wight for this new More4 TV series.
The duo visited many parts of the Island, but it was at Ventnor’s Smoking Lobster where Grace declared their lobster dish was the best she’d ever tasted.
Our thanks to Gianpaolo Mario for sharing these images taken when Grace and Ainsley visited Ventnor in February.
A guide to Britain’s splendid seaside at its scrumptious best
Press for the new series reads:
From local delicacies and cheap eats to high-end dining and fun holiday activities, Best of Britain By the Sea will be a guide to Britain’s splendid seaside at its scrumptious best.
Each episode will follow Grace and Ainsley as they stay in a self-catering property where they cook for each other using their favourite produce, and a hotel where they meet the owners and chefs while soaking up the unique ambience of each gorgeous establishment. From their two delightful accommodations they explore the local surroundings and attractions, and experience hidden foodie hotspots.
Where and when
The programme kicks off with the twosome heading to Carmarthenshire to enjoy fresh foraged seafood and traditional cawl.
According to the listings, next week there’ll be in South Devon, where they sample stunning seafood and befriend a family of otters.
The Isle of Wight episode will be screening (subject to any last minute changes) on Monday 13th June from 9pm on Channel 4’s More4.
Visit Isle of Wight tell us that the series will also be repeated later each week on More4 and Channel 4 at the weekend in a yet to be specified time slot.
