We’re expecting news of the Bestival 2008 headline acts to arrive on Friday this week and to coincide with this very exciting news, those lovely, lovely people at Bestival HQ are giving all Islanders a chance to buy commission and booking fee-free tickets for Bestival 2008.
Now we know that lots of you haven’t even bothered waiting for the Islanders tickets this year, sales have been sky high, but Bestival have saved a few tix just for the rest of you and are offering them commission and booking fee-free.
For one day only, you can bag yourselves (well, not really bag – unless you wait for one of our comps later in the summer, but rather, buy your) tickets to paradise £17.50 less than usual (total discount for a pair of tickets).
That might not sound like a huge saving to some, but here are a few things that you could spend that extra dosh on.
For under a fiver, if you pop down to your local Millets you can pick up some Eurohike Alloy Pegs. We all know what it’s like when you’re taking down the tent at the end of a festi. Somehow, you always manage to loose a few tent pegs along the way. Pick up a bag of these rather splendid peggies for just £4.99.
That leaves £12.50, so how about picking up a wind shield, they always come in handy, not only on the beach on a windy day but also at festivals when you want to mark out your territory (or hide behind it). One of these babies will only set you back another fiver with a penny change.
That leaves £7.50 – so why not pop down to your local and buy a round of drinks.
Alternatively, you could send the whole lot to a charity and go to bed with a lovely warm glow in your heart.
So where can you buy these Islander tickets you ask?
This Friday (22nd) they will be sold from 10am for one day only on a first come first served basis at the following outlets.
Kicking off in Ventnor, take a stroll down Pier Street, straight on past the Jazz Office and down to Winter Gardens where you can buy your tickets.
Elsewhere on the Wight, try any of the Isle of Wight Tourist Information Centres (Westridge (just outside Ryde), Newport, Sandown, Shanklin, Ryde, Cowes and Yarmouth). The wonderful location of Robin Hill is another outlet you can pick up your tickets and finally in Bembridge, the Pilot Boat Inn will be able to help, if you dare not step outside your comfort zone.
Even though under 12s go free again, they will need a ticket, and must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
A limited number of free Child tickets will be available at the above IOW outlets this Friday, or can be obtained via the official Bestival website.
