Brading Roman Villa Trust welcomes new Trustee

Brading Roman Villa Trust are very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Ross Thomas as a new trustee.

Ross is an archaeologist who has undertaken fieldwork on land and underwater across the ancient Hellenistic and Roman worlds.

He has directed archaeological projects on behalf of the British Museum, where he is a curator in the Department of Greece and Rome.

Current projects
Ross is currently involved in a fieldwork project at Hadrian’s villa, Italy, and directs excavations at Naukratis, Egypt. His current research ranges from ship technology to glass gems.

With broad experience and strong relationships with international institutions, antiquities services and learned societies, Ross has served on several boards and is keenly aware of the role and responsibilities of charitable trusts such as Brading Roman Villa.

He grew up in Brading.
