Ventnor was all abuzz on Friday after the excitement of a Police raid in central Ventnor Town.
Many people watched five burly Police use a battering ram to knock down the door of the building next door to the Co-Op, right in the centre of Ventnor, by the traffic lights.
VB‘s been told that flat raided was on top of the Co-Op shop, although it’s understood that there’s no connection with the shop itself.
Strong cannabis smell inside Co-Op
VB also hear that customers of the Co-op had been smelling the very strong sent of growing cannabis while inside the shop.
We contacted the Police today and got the following statement, in their own words
Police can confirm a residential flat in Pier Street, Ventnor, Isle of Wight was searched on Friday, October 14, 2011.
Officers seized property and equipment, which was suspected of being used to cultivate cannabis.
An investigation is continuing.
