As part of the first Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival, head to little known Munsley Bog – a rare Island treasure, with very high historic nature conservation value, teeming with wildlife and such a lovely place to visit.
Community volunteers from Godshill Matters will host an afternoon of walks, picnics (bring your own) music and singing together to celebrate this special site.
We invite you to see, smell, listen and feel the Bog.
Teas, coffees and soft drinks on sale in the Scout Hall. Toilets available.
Where and when
Taking place on Saturday 29th June 2024.
Guided Walks start at rear of Old Smithy free car park Godshill at 12pm and 2pm. Please be aware this car park is locked at 5.30pm.
The main event takes place by the Scout Hall, May Close, Godshill, from 1pm
All children and young people must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Free event. No booking required.
Please note
This is a predominantly outdoors event, so come prepared for all weathers and to join in! Walkers will need sensible footwear for a sometimes-muddy trail which does contain gates and stiles.
We are sorry, but the two-mile route is not suitable for pushchairs or mobility aids, but the Bog itself is accessible via duckboards directly from the Scout Hall.
Well behaved dogs are welcomed but must be kept on leads. Don’t forget to bring a picnic!
The event is supported by Gift to Nature, who manage Munsley Bog on behalf of Godshill Parish Council.
