One of our favourite Isle of Wight bands, CHAMPS, are The Guardian’s choice of ‘New band of the day’ today (Friday).
Ventnor brothers, Michael and David Champion are the creators of some truly beautiful music and it’s not surprising to read in their interview with Guardian journo, Paul Lester, that they both “love that sense of awe you get hearing voices in a cathedral”.
‘Just can’t get enough’
Having seen them perform in large venues, such as churches and at festivals, as well as small spaces and clubs, where the intimate settings amplify the delicateness of their music, it’s hard to imagine anyone not falling in love with their music.
Michael’s sensitive and thought-provoking lyrics, coupled with the spine-chilling harmonies will have you craving more.
New single, new album and a tour
CHAMPS have a new single – Savannah – due out on 23rd December (it received its worldwide premiere play on BBCRadio1 on Wednesday), and they’ll will be releasing their debut album, Down Like Gold, on 24th February 2014.
The album launch ties in well with their tour with The Jezabels across UK and Ireland next February and March.
If you can’t wait until them check out three of the recent videos below.
