Christmas break boost: Isle of Wight council rolls out Holiday Activities and Food Programme

The Christmas Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is back for 2023!

The programme offers a wide range of activities to entertain young people over the Christmas holidays. It also makes sure that everyone gets a free nutritious meal and snacks each day.

Free places for eligible children
Free places are available for children who receive benefits-related free school meals. Some places are also available for other vulnerable families.

The HAF programme is funded by the Department for Education and delivered through the Isle of Wight Council’s connect4communities programme, supporting those most in need with living costs.

Bacon: The HAF programme continues to be a real success
Councillor Jonathan Bacon, Cabinet member for children’s services, said,

“I wish to say a huge thank you to all of the providers who have worked with us to support families by arranging fun and exciting activities for children and young people and also providing them with a nutritious meal.

“The HAF programme continues to be a real success in providing a range of quality activities for children and young people who might not otherwise have had the chance to attend a holiday club or an activity day.”
