Cowes Enterprise College celebrates sporting achievements at the Isle of Wight Sports Awards

Cowes Enterprise College, part of Ormiston Academies Trust, is celebrating students’ outstanding sporting achievements at the 50th Anniversary Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards.

Cowes Enterprise College’s PE department was awarded the prestigious Secondary Sporting School Award in recognition of its commitment to encouraging participation and excellence in school sport. The annual event recognises the island’s exceptional sporting talent and acknowledges those who dedicate their time to the development of sport.

Previous awards
Cowes Enterprise College’s achievements over the past year include receiving the PEACH Gold Award for supporting primary school students with their transition to secondary school through PE, securing the Gold Sports Mark for three consecutive years, and delivering a highly successful Sports Leadership Programme. Sixth form Sports Captains, PE mentors, and Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 sports ambassadors have all contributed to this success.

Remarkable sporting accomplishments
Cowes Enterprise College students were also celebrated on the night for their remarkable sporting accomplishments.

  • Isobel M. (Year 12) was a finalist in the Intermediate Girls category for her dedication and impressive performances in swimming.
  • Hannah Y. (Year 9) was a finalist in the Junior Girls International category for her success in sailing.
  • Patrick D.S. (Year 9) and Rafe B. (Year 9) were both finalists in the Junior Boys International category, recognised for their outstanding achievements in sailing.
  • Rafe B. went on to win the Junior Boys International Award.
