Cowes Lifeboat races into Solent just for Kix

This latest news just in from George on behalf of Cowes RNLI. Ed

Cowes RNLI lifeboat went to the aid of a small yellow catamaran with a steering problem in mid-Solent today (Saturday).

The man on the craft, the Kix, had used his mobile phone to seek help through Solent Coastguards.

First on the scene was the yacht Thunderbolt, which took the craft in tow until this task was taken over by the lifeboat.

The Kix was eventually towed to off the Little Gloster at Gurnard where the man was able reach the shore without further assistance.

The lifeboat, helmed by Mark Harker, was launched at 1.25pm and returned to station at 1.56pm.
