Here’s the first of the summary pieces from this week’s County Press – after it appeared that VB readers though it might be a good idea.
The Members of the Medina Mariners Association have criticised the Isle of Wight Council’s management of Newport Harbour.
The Secretary of the Association, Terry Webb, said that the council hasn’t carried out any “major capital or maintenance investment since about 1990.”
Peter Hayward, head of highways and transport responded, “We continue to maintain the harbour as per our statutory duties, using the resources available to us.”
The Medina Mariners are launching a petition which will be sent to LGO (Local Government Ombudsman).
