Readers will remember the appeal by Nikki Collinson we ran last week who is hoping to raise £1,500 to buy a Cuddle Cot for St Mary’s bereavement unit.
Nikki’s appeal has only been running two weeks and she’s already received £900 towards the £1,500 needed.
It would be great if we could help her reach the £1,500 target by Christmas so the Cuddle Cot can be ready to help Island families if needed asap.
What’s a Cuddle Cot?
If you’re wondering what a Cuddle Cot is and why St Mary’s needs one, Nikki explains, “The loss of a baby is so deeply painful. For many parents they are saying hello and goodbye in such a short amount of time before their baby has to be taken from them.
“The Cuddle Cot has a cooling system that allows the family of the baby that has passed to stay with them for longer, so enabling the family to spend precious time with their baby to say goodbye properly.”
