David Pugh was on the IW Radio phone-in today and didn’t come off as well as he has in the past.
In between periods of silences (what is happening on IW Radio today?), The Leader handled quite a few calls on the placement of traffic lights, but got it in the neck from Pat the Builder.
He called and wouldn’t let Mr Pugh off the hook about his lack of attendance at meeting held by Shanklin shopkeepers as they struggle to find a solution to the sudden drop of taking that are being attributed to the road closures in the Shanklin that we reported on back at the start of October. Pat the Builder felt it should be top of The Leader’s agenda as Shanklin as Mr Pugh’s constituency.
Pugh said he wouldn’t be at the meeting tonight, due to prior commitments – fair enough.
When asked where he’d been last Thursday, Pugh replied that he’d been at a meeting.
Pat the Builder then pointed out that it was more likely been at the Mount Joy elections – to which The Leader agreed. Whoops.
