Plans have been submitted to build two new dwellings within a semi-detached property on Talbot Road, Sandown.
Designed to resemble a singe house, the three bedroomed properties will sit between The Rangers and The Hideaway.
Intended to promote nature
Woods Architecture say the plans do not “inflict on the open space of Battery Gardens with the aesthetic of the proposal intended to promote nature and provide a neutral material palette to allow the greenery to act as a primary element across the site and its surroundings”.
The designs include grass on the flat roofs of the properties to allow the dwellings to become part of the landscape.
The architects say,
“The proposal provides good architecture for modern living and is well designed to accommodate a modern family, the use of the vacant land will provide a good aesthetic to the street-scape and create harmony between the modern new-builds below the site and the traditional aspects of The Rangers.”
