Sandown’s New Year’s Day swim takes place tomorrow (Tuesday) at midday.
Once again, the event is hoping to attract brave souls who will follow in the footsteps of all those who took part in the Ventnor Boxing Day Swim and race into the chilly water for charity.
Extending the lifeboat station
Dippers will be raising much-needed money for Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat, who need to raise £155,000 to extend the lifeboat station.
The event takes place next on the east side of Sandown Pier.
We hear that many of those taking part will be following an Isle of Wight tradition and donning fancy dress for the event.
Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat will be out on the water keeping an eye on everyone.
