Jasmine Metta Truman, an Isle of Wight photography graduate, founded Earth Spirit Magazine in 2023. This stunning publication is a collaborative platform celebrating the timeless bond between humans and the natural world.
Each year, Earth Spirit brings together a fresh group of creatives to reflect on their connection to the environment. The contributors are invited to explore their local natural spaces and create works inspired by their experiences.
A unique creative process
Participants in the Earth Spirit Brief immerse themselves in nature over an eight-week period.
During this time, they use their chosen medium — be it photography, painting, writing or another art form — to respond to their surroundings and the sense of place they encounter.
The result is a breathtaking collection of works that showcase the diversity of creative responses to the land. Each piece reflects not only the artist’s perspective but also their deep connection to the environment they explored.
The second issue: A nationwide collaboration
At the end of 2024, the second issue of Earth Spirit Magazine was published, featuring contributions from 19 creatives across the UK. This volume highlights a wide range of artistic voices, including Bianca Tombi, Darcy Kivell and Emily Clark, alongside many other talented individuals.
The contributors’ work is a testament to the power of collaboration and shared appreciation for the natural world. From visual arts to written pieces, the magazine captures the essence of reconnecting with nature in a modern context.
