Easing back-to-school costs: Christ the King College’s new uniform scheme

Understanding the financial pressures many families face during this cost of living crisis, especially around the time of transitioning to secondary school, Christ the King College has decided to step in and fund uniforms for those in need.

It’s common knowledge that the start of the school year can be an expensive period, particularly with the need to purchase new uniforms. In light of this, Christ the King College felt it was their responsibility to ease the financial burden for families.

Continuation of the scheme
The good news doesn’t end there. The College has confirmed that this initiative will be extended. Come September 2024, new Year 6 students and their parents choosing Christ the King College can expect similar support.

A duty to the community
Mr Montrose, the Headteacher, spoke about the initiative. He said,

“As a joint faith school, I feel it is our duty to support all in our community as best we can.”

He also expressed the hope that this kind gesture would aid in making the shift from primary to secondary school seamless.

“Dressed for success”
Mr Montrose added that he wants students to feel as though they are “dressed for success” as they begin this new chapter of their academic lives.
