Findings From Today’s 180-Home East Cowes Development Planning Committee

It’s been a busy day at the Isle of Wight council Planning Committee today.

The meeting is still going on, and at the time of publishing, they’re still discussing the Cowes Marina application, with Yarmouth Harbour and a wind turbine in Rew Lane, Ventnor still to come.

One application that has been discussed already today is the Phase 2 of the East Cowes Project.

180 homes
They were seeking permission to build 180 dwellings, public open spaces, landscaping, internal road lay-out, parking and woodland areas.

Planning officers had recommenced granting “Conditional Permission.”

We understand that the Planning Committee have deferred the decision until they’ve found out more information about the traffic in Oak Road.

They hope to bring it back in front of the Planning Committee again in November.
