Fire service called to St Mary’s Hospital: Update – All safe

There are currently three fire engines at St Mary’s hospital investigating a smell of smoke on the Newchurch Ward.

The crews have just reported back the smell of burning. The ‘Skylift’ is on site as well.

Hope it’s not serious – there are no currently indications that this might be the case at the moment.

Update 10:02: A fourth has arrived.

Update 10:32: Fire service has now issued a stop message. Happily there smell turned out to be diesel fumes.

Many thanks to Carrie Lane for getting in touch about this.
