Floating Bridge update following earlier suspension

The Cowes Floating Bridge is due to return to service today (Saturday) from 2pm.

It will then undergo a short period of maintenance on Monday 3rd October to complete the current schedule of works.

Replacement of the worn noise mitigating ‘shoe’
Most of the planned works were completed on 22nd September. However, it was not possible to complete the replacement of the worn noise mitigating ‘shoe’ on the western prow.

Work taking place on Monday
As the new ‘shoe’ is required to minimise noise from emanating from the prow impacting the slipway, it is essential that this work is completed at the earliest opportunity and this will take place between 8am and 2pm on Monday 3 October.

During this period the replacement foot passenger launch will be in service.
