Flood alert issued for the Isle of Wight coast

It’s not expected to be in any way serious, but the Environment Agency have issued a flood alert for the Isle of Wight for later today (Saturday).

They say,

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the Isle of Wight coast.

Flooding is possible for the coast around the Isle of Wight. Low lying coastal land and roads will be affected first. Be prepared.

Forecast is for Cowes
Water will be high up slipways at Cowes. A small amount of water may affect coastal roads for a very short time period.

At Yarmouth the tide level will be much the same as observed earlier this morning, with potential minor impacts to the ferry terminal car park.

Impacts across the Island are expected to be minimal.
