The family of Joe Ellis, the teenager who lost his fight against cancer earlier this week, have issued an open invitation to Islanders to help celebrate his life next week.
They’ve asked that we share the following information about Joe’s funeral arrangements.
The church service will be held on Thursday 10th July at 2pm at St.Thomas Church Newport.
All will be welcome, there will be limited space inside the church itself but there will be facilities for the service to be relayed outside.
The family have asked that there be no formal wear or black, please dress casual in Joe’s blue and purple colours.
Fundraising
A massively fantastic total of £73,638.18 has been raised so far for the Joe Ellis Trust.
Originally set up to fund pioneering cancer treatment for Joe, following his sad death earlier in the week, upon the family’s wishes, the campaign to raise £100,000 for Island children in the same situation is to continue.
