Further changes in Andrew Turner’s re-election campaign team

Following the news that Isle of Wight Conservative MP, Andrew Turner’s campaign manager and election agent have stepped down from the campaign team, just weeks after being announced in the posts, further changes have been announced

New chairman of campaign committee
Speaking to OnTheWight, Cllr Chris Whitehouse, who is currently Acting Campaign Manager for Island MP, Andrew Turner, said,

“Mike Rooke’s been a great supporter of Andrew over many years, and remains so. Sadly, he’s got other family commitments that mean he cannot really continue as Agent. We had a great meeting yesterday of the full 12 strong campaign team and a new Agent will be announced shortly.

“Cllr Ian Ward, Chairman of the Isle of Wight Council and Vice Chairman of the Isle of Wight Conservative Association has stepped up to take the Chair of the Campaign Committee. He’ll be fantastic in that role.

“We’re looking forward to the formal launch on Monday 12th January.”

Andrew Turner’s 2015 General Election launch takes place on Monday 12th January.

How does that song go ? “dizzy my head is spinning ” CW you must feel like a whirling dervish. Sit down and clear your head . Can you not stop spinning even for a moment. I think it’s called flogging a dead horse. Can’t wait for this election launch with your manged press launch . Perhaps some or all of the journalists might take you to… Read more »

Ian Ward is an honourable man, should do well in the role.

Interesting! The IWCA civil war battle lines are being drawn. Compare and contrast: (13/12/2014) (Alan Wells per CP)) “I cannot, in good faith, recommend IWCA resources are spent on a campaign which remains at serious risk of being jeopardised.” (6/1/2015) per OTW) “Cllr Ian Ward, Chairman of the Isle of Wight Council and Vice Chairman of the Isle of Wight Conservative Association has stepped up to take… Read more »

Interesting that CW talks a great meeting yesterday of the campaign team of “the full 12 strong campaign team ” what happened to the other 9. To lose one is careless to lose 9 borders on ridiculous ! I wonder where they all went

Interesting, I wonder where the funds will come for this election campaign. How much in the coffers ? Will be very goog reading to see the list of those who ‘donate’ could it be a future work of fiction?

Will the current management of IWCA be able to defend itself against CCHQ for failing to provide electoral financial support for its local MP?

Or will it deselect AT and substiture its own favoured candidate?

On the other hand, the list of donors and amounts to IWCA election funds (and especially those by the Patrons Club) would be a work of fact- but unlikely ever to be published.

Whitehouse and Ward have principles, I am sure they will recognise the problem the rank and file have with the general situation and give our M P a chance to be his own man.

Hmmm not sure about one of those two. As to give AT a chance to be his own man; they would have to get the approval of the Gang of Four first
