VB reader Karen Joy Cunningham got in touch yesterday to let us know about a possible filming of a Hollywood film taking place on the Island.
Gambit, a film about a heist carried off by an English cat burglar and starring Michael Caine and Shirley Maclaine, was originally made in 1966. According to reports in the media, a remake is currently underway, directed by Michael Hoffman.
The story has been adapted by the excellent Coen Brothers and is to star Colin Firth, Camerian Diaz and Alan Rickman.
Is sign a sign?
Karen told us that yesterday in Yarmouth she found today a sign that looked as though it was from the film company producing the 2012 version of Gambit.
Filming did take place in London earlier in the year, so whether the cast and crew have been filming on the Island we’re not sure, but for all those film buffs out there, we’ll will let you know if we hear more.
