GCSE Results: Carisbrooke College 2021

Carisbrooke College students and staff are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results after an incredibly challenging year in education.

Students have shown determination, strength and resilience to arrive at their results this year, following periods of online learning during national lockdowns. Their hard work has paid off though, with students receiving impressive results which will set them up for ongoing future success.

Impact of Covid-19
Due to the disruption to education this year because of the Coronavirus pandemic, results are based on teacher assessed grades, rather than examinations.

This has enabled results to reflect students’ true abilities as they are based on evidence gathered over a longer period of time.

Going above and beyond
Special thanks must be made to teaching and support staff who have gone above and beyond, both virtually during lockdowns and face to face in school, to ensure students have remained engaged and making progress towards their individual targets.

Onward journeys
The governors and staff are very proud that the majority of students are remaining within the Isle of Wight Education Federation community, by moving on to take A Level and vocational Level 3 courses at The Island VI Form.

However, students are also progressing into a range of apprenticeships and other further education studies both on and off the Island.
