Outstanding GCSE Results at Priory School
Once again, we are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our pupils in this year’s GCSE results. A remarkable 97% of pupils achieved grades 9 to 4, with a 100% pass rate across the cohort. One in three grades were at 9 to 7, the equivalent of the old A* to A grade.

Christ The King College celebrates outstanding GCSE and BTEC results, exceeding expectations
Students and staff at Christ the King College are celebrating another set of outstanding GCSE and BTEC results. Exceeding predictions, these impressive achievements follow last week’s exceptional Sixth Form results, further reinforcing the College’s strong upward trajectory and commitment to excellence across all Key Stages.
Impressive, estimated progress figures show that Year 11 students performed nearly a third of a grade higher across all subjects than national expectations based on their starting points.
Academic Excellence and Curriculum Breadth
Christ the King College is proud to offer the Island’s broadest range of Key Stage 4 subjects, combining traditional academic disciplines, including Latin and Classics, with dynamic vocational pathways.
Many students achieved exceptional outcomes, with the majority making greater progress than expected. Performance across almost all subjects was strong, with several standout successes, including:
- English: Exceptional progress scores, alongside a high proportion of top grades.
- Mathematics: A high percentage of disadvantaged students achieved higher pass grades.
- Latin: Outstanding results, with 80% of students achieving Grades 9-7.
- Business Studies: Excellent progress, with 67% of students achieving Grade 5+.
- Modern Foreign Languages, History and Geography significantly outperformed national benchmarks.
The College’s balanced curriculum ensures that all students can thrive. Applied and vocational
qualifications also delivered strong results, including:
- Travel & Tourism: 88% positive progress rate and a 100% pass rate.
- Health & Social Care: 79% positive progress rate and 70% Distinction/Merit rate.

Joy for Cowes Enterprise College students as they celebrate GCSE results
GCSE results day has brought celebrations to Cowes Enterprise College as Year 11 students reflect on their achievements and look towards the future.
The school, which is on Crossfield Avenue and part of Ormiston Academies Trust, is celebrating the achievements of its students, who have shown resilience and ambition throughout their studies and are now preparing to take their next steps in education, training or employment.
This year’s cohort achieved particularly highly in English, Maths and Science.
The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they look ahead to the next stage of their education.
While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:
- Tom received two Grade 9s, five Grade 8s, one Grade 7 and one Grade 6. He is staying at Cowes to study A Levels in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Maths.
- Sameer secured two Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and three Grade 7s. He is going to study A Levels in Physics, Maths and Further Maths and is hoping to be a pilot.
- Daisy was awarded two Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, three Grade 7s and one Grade 6 and plans to study A Levels at Cowes.
- Cora received one Grade 9, three Grade 8s, four Grade 7s and one Grade 6 and plans to study A Levels at Cowes.
- Dylan obtained two Grade 8s, three Grade 6s, three Grade 5s and one Grade 4 and thinking about studying Criminology and Law.
- Punnaporn achieved one Grade 7, 4 Grade 6s and three grade 5s. She will be studying A Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry at Cowes.
- Jerome recievd three Grade 7s, four Grade 6s and one Grade 5 and will be studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths at Cowes from September.

Students at Lift Ryde celebrate GCSE success
Students and staff at Lift Ryde are celebrating today as young people receive their GCSE and vocational results.
After years of hard work, students are seeing the results of their efforts and making plans for their next steps, whether that is A-levels, vocational or technical education. Teachers and staff are also celebrating alongside them as the school community comes together to mark this important moment.
Throughout the year, the school has provided lots of intervention and revision sessions, helping students feel prepared for their exams and confident about their future choices.
Many students have now secured the grades they need to continue their studies through A levels, vocational courses, apprenticeships or other routes. Amongst Lift Ryde’s success stories:
- Evie Cox nine grade 9s and a grade 8 and is returning to Lift Ryde Sixth Form
- Emily Snelling nine grade 9s and a grade 8 and is returning to Lift Ryde Sixth Form
- Roscoe Lloyd four grade 9s, three 8s and three 7s and is returning to Lift Ryde Sixth Form
- Storm Davies six grade 8s, three 7s and a grade 6 and will be attending the Island Sixth Form
- Jathisa Sivaranjan six grade 9s and four 8s and is returning to Lift Ryde Sixth Form
- Bridget Hernes three grade 9’s, four 8’s, one grade 7 and a grade 6 and will be attending the Island Sixth Form
- Will Heald achieved two grade 5s, four grade 4s and two grade 3s, and will be attending the Isle of Wight College.
- Riley Aikenhead achieved three grade 5s, six grade 4s and a grade 3, and will be going to an apprenticeship at GKN.
- Jack Scully Syer achieved one grade 8, one grade 7, five grade 6s, two grade 5s and a grade 4, and will be going to an apprenticeship at GKN.
- Irem Cal achieved one grade 9, six grade 7s, two 6s and two grade 5s, and will be attending Sixth Form.
- Lydia Eastwood achieved four grade 8s, two grade 7s, two grade 6s and two grade 5s, and will be attending Sparsholt College.

Medina College GCSE Results 2026
Year 11 students at Medina College celebrated today as they received their GCSE results, marking the culmination of five years of learning, growth and perseverance.
With a range of opportunities ahead, students can now take the next steps on their individual journeys towards their future goals.
At Medina College, we believe that every young person deserves a path – a journey that nurtures ambition, builds confidence and helps each student discover who they are, what they can do and who they can become. Today’s results are an opportunity to celebrate the progress students have made and the many different pathways that now lie ahead of them.
Many students will now continue their education at The Island VI Form, choosing from a wide range of A Level courses. Others are moving on to apprenticeships, further training opportunities and employment, both on the Island and beyond.
This year’s students have shown resilience, determination and a real commitment to their studies. Their results reflect not only their hard work, but also the progress they have made across a broad range of subjects. Best 9-1 GCSE results ever at Ryde School
Ryde School is celebrating another year of very successful GCSE results.
The School’s results were the best across every metric since 9 – 1 grading was introduced (excluding Covid-adjusted years), with 31.4% of all GCSEs at grade 9 or 8 and almost half at 9, 8 or 7.
Other headline stats include 43% of pupils achieving five or more GCSEs at grade 7 or higher and almost two-thirds of pupils gained five or more GCSEs at grade 6 or higher. 94.9% of grades were at 9 to 4.
Head Master Will Turner commented,
“Ryde School pupils can be hugely proud of these excellent GCSE results. That they are the best in the School’s history since 9-1 grading was introduced is a reflection of the pupils’ ambition and hard work combined with the excellent teaching they have received.
“All of us at Ryde are delighted to celebrate these fantastic results, which follow on from the School’s best A Level results since 2014 and the best IB Diploma results in the School’s history that we have already received this summer.”
There are also some fantastic individual achievements to note. Zie C and Annabelle S both achieved seven GCSEs at grade 9 and two at grade 8. Nathan P, Rio W, Harriet A, Isabelle H and Sophie T all gained eight GCSEs at grades 9 or 8, with Yaroslav K, Lucy A and Aria L achieving seven GCSEs at grades 9 or 8.*

Individual Highlights
- Melody Schooling was the highest-performing student, achieving an incredible sweep of top grades: 8s in Art, English Literature, and Maths, a double 9-9 in Science, a 9 in English, Level 2 Distinctions in both Child Development and Health & Social Care, alongside a Level 7 in Mandarin.
- Lillie Amer perfectly showcased the strength of the rich vocational and academic mix, securing Level 2 Distinctions in Child Development and Health & Social Care, a Level 2 Merit in BTEC Sport, an 8 in History, a 7 in English Literature, and 6s in Maths, Science, and English Language.
- Freddie Hollis demonstrated tremendous hard work across a diverse range of subjects, achieving a 9-9 in Science, a 9 in Maths, a Level 2 Distinction in BTEC Sport, an 8 in Food Technology, and a 7 in Mandarin.
Whether students are progressing to A-Levels, Level 3 vocational courses, apprenticeships, or the world of work, on the Island or further afield, they leave with the knowledge, confidence, and character to step boldly into their next chapter.

Isle of Wight College Students celebrate GCSE success and bright futures
Students across the Isle of Wight are celebrating today as they receive their GCSE results, marking an important milestone in their educational journeys and opening the door to exciting new opportunities.
Students at the Isle of Wight College are celebrating important personal achievements in GCSE English and maths, including learners who secured grade 4 or above. These results reflect considerable commitment and perseverance, often alongside demanding vocational programmes, employment and personal responsibilities.
Among the many students celebrating their success was Edie Sheath, a Hair and Beauty student, who achieved the highest possible grade in GCSE Foundation Maths.
Edie, who is now looking forward to starting a career in the hairdressing industry, praised the support she received from College staff throughout her journey. She said,
“The teachers always believed in me and never gave up on me. They gave me 110% support.”
Rowan Sirkett also celebrated passing GCSE Maths after steadily progressing through different qualification levels. Having already achieved his GCSE English, Rowan says gaining both qualifications will open up wider employment opportunities while he continues working.
Reflecting on his achievement, Rowan said,
“I didn’t do well at school because I was distracted. Now I’m not so distracted, I wanted to complete my GCSEs.
“I am really pleased and I’m keeping all of the learning materials for reference. The teachers do care if you pass and will help you if you are stuck.”
Antony Hancock, who studies with Platform One, achieved a Grade 4 in GCSE English and was delighted with his result. Antony said,
“I’m really happy with what I achieved.
“Maths and English were enjoyable thanks to the teachers who supported me and helped prepare me for learning.”
Antony’s next goal is to complete his course at Platform One and continue building on his success.
Each year, students at the Isle of Wight College undertake GCSE English and Maths as an important part of their study programme. The College, like employers, recognises the value of these essential qualifications and is committed to providing the teaching and support students need to build their confidence, achieve their potential and progress into further study, apprenticeships or employment.
