Thanks to the Friends of Dinosaur Isle for sharing details of this event. Ed

Dinosaur Isle is hosting a free weekend on the 9th and 10th of November from 10am to 4pm for its annual Blast from the Past event.

The free event, for enthusiasts of natural history, palaeontology and geology, and supported by the Friends of Dinosaur Isle, will feature palaeontologists from the Natural History Museum, Southampton and Portsmouth Universities and other natural historians.

Meet the specialists
You will have the rare opportunity to meet the specialists, visit their stalls in the main hall of Dinosaur Isle and get up close to specimens not normally on display to the public including some major new finds.

This will be a great opportunity to bring along your fossil finds for identification from some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the country.

For children, there will be dinosaur themed face painting, fossil-sorting and model making.

Chilli supper and special guest speakers
The event continues into the evening, with a chilli supper and special guest speakers, one of whom will be giving us an entertaining talk on Dinosaur Fornication – Just how did they do it?

The numbers for the evening are strictly limited so booking with Dinosaur Isle is essential (Tel: 404344).

Entry to the museum is free for the whole weekend.
