Global Education Excellence award for hosting international students goes to Isle of Wight sixth form

Another award has been presented to the Sixth Form at Christ the King College for Global Education Excellence this week by EF for their provision to International students on a High School Exchange Year.

Annually, the Sixth Form hosts between six and sixteen International students for a year’s study in the UK and they have been formally recognised again for their contribution to Global Education.

Impressed by the pastoral care
EF were particularly impressed by the pastoral care provided to their students and the communication they receive from the team in the Sixth Form at Christ the King College.

It was noted that this “has never been truer than in this year” by Jon Desmarais the Programme Director.

Conway-Hughes: Post-Brexit rules will impact future hosting
Mrs Conway-Hughes, the Head of Sixth Form, says,

“We are delighted to receive this award for a second time. We try to provide very high standards of care to all of our students and this is especially important to those living, often for the first time, many miles away from their homes and families.

“It has been particularly challenging for them during the lockdowns and many were unable to travel home, or receive visits from their loved ones for very long periods of time this year. It is always our privilege to host International students, sadly the rules post-Brexit will have an impact on how many we can host in the future.”

The Sixth Form at Christ the King college maintains an excellent track record for student progress Post 16 this is another illustration of the success of this Island based Sixth Form provider.
