The General Election campaign kicked off this weekend, with an appearance by the Green Party’s Vix Lowthion on the BBC Politics South show.

Vix is the Green Party’s national spokesperson for Education and the prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Isle of Wight East. She was on the show with Jessica Toale (Labour, Bournemouth West), Sidney Yankson (Conservative, Southampton Itchen) and Danny Chambers (LibDem, Winchester). Topics discussed included food & farming, the NHS and Brexit.

Vix said,

“It was such a privilege to represent the Green Party regionally and be back in the BBC studio. I even got to make Peter Henley laugh!

“Sitting on the sofa with new MP candidates – a teacher, a vet, a barrister, an advisor – from across all the parties was truly refreshing.

“This election will give voters a rare opportunity to send a large set of new MPs to Westminster to shake up the Commons. I’m looking forward to more opportunities to put forward my plans for IW East.”

You can view excerpts here or the full show on iPlayer.

Vix is holding a zoom call at 6.30pm on Wednesday 29th May (register here) to find out more about her plans and a Campaign launch and action day from 10.30am on Saturday 1st June (meet at Ryde, western gardens).

Everyone is welcome – from IW East or West – to get involved. See Vix Lowthion’s website for more information.
