Last week we received a letter from a Ventnor resident who regularly uses the Spa at the Heights Leisure Centre in Sandown.
Mrs Cummings told us she was unhappy to hear from staff at the centre of the proposal to permanently remove the Jacuzzi Spa when the multi-million pound refurbishment takes place in October.
Spa offers great relief
Suffering from many ailments that the Spa gives great relief from, Mrs Cummings was concerned that the Jacuzzi would no longer be available for use after the summer.
Since writing to VB and the council, Mrs Cummings has received a response from Alex Minns, Strategic Manager for Recreation, Leisure and Public Spaces.
Council gone back to architects
Mr Minns said that in light of the many comments received from customers, the council have gone back to the architects and asked them to include a Spa and Spa Plant, as well as a Sauna and Steam Room in the plans.
Once the council has received the revised plans, they’ll be able to work out cost for the installation and ongoing running costs of the Spa. Once they have this information, they’ll be in a position to make a decision as to whether it will be financially viable to proceed with this option.
We’ll make sure that the council keep us informed of any updates on this issue.
