We’ve just spoken to the Police and they’ve confirmed to VB that they have recovered a car and “believe it’s connected to the incident,” that took place early Sunday morning in Newport.
VB put out a call on Sunday morning for people to look out for a small red car with front end damage, following appeals from friends and family.
Man arrested
A man has handed himself in at Newport Police Station and is currently helping police officers with their enquiries.
A 28-year-old man from the Sandown area has been arrested in connection with this incident and is currently in police custody.
Appeal continues
Officers continue to appeal for anyone who saw what happened or saw any vehicles in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
