As a signee of the Armed Forces Covenant and bronze level awardee of The Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), Hovertravel is supporting Armed Forces and Veterans with 50 per cent off standard fares travelling across the Solent from Ryde to Southsea for the D-Day 80 events on Wednesday 5th June and Armed Forces Day on Saturday 8th June.
Lale: The Isle of Wight is home to many veterans
Loretta Lale, head of commercial at Hovertravel, explains,

Televised events
There are two events on Wednesday 5th June and for those lucky to have secured tickets they will see famous faces, musical performances, readings, and testimonies from 11am-1pm with a community vigil in the evening. Both events will also be televised on BBC One.
On Saturday, as part of a week of commemorations for D-Day 80, Portsmouth’s Armed Forces Day event returns to Southsea Common just a couple of steps from Hovertravel’s terminal. Including parades, military vehicles, live music, the day will also feature a Royal Navy parachute jump and a full Red Arrows display across the Solent.
