Whilst taking a Sunday stroll along Yaverland prom I came across this group of people (photos below) deep in conversation trying to find the best way to pull a tractor out of the sand.
Bystanders told me that the group had already tried twice using another tractor to pull the first out, but the rope had split on both occasions.
I spotted them trying to dig it out, but the sea was making it very difficult, by filling up the trench again.
Eventually, two tractors in tandem managed to pull the beleaguered vehicle out of the mire.
