Duke of KentHis Royal Highness The Duke of Kent is to visit the Isle of Wight on Tuesday 10 May 2011.

During the day, His Royal Highness will visit the Isle of Wight Steam Railway in Havenstreet as they celebrate their 40th anniversary.

Supporting Isle of Wight Scouts Corf Camp Appeal
As President of the Scouting Association, The Duke will attend a lunch at Haseley Manor, Arreton in aid of the Isle of Wight Scouts Corf Camp Appeal. Funds are being raised to replace the unusable buildings at Corf Camp.

His Royal Highness will also visit the Composite Research Centre and new composite manufacturing facility at GKN Aerospace, where innovative technologies are being developed to meet ever more demanding requirements on the next generation aircraft.

This will be The Duke’s fourth recent visit to the Isle of Wight. In April 2009 he visited Cowes RNLI lifeboat station in East Cowes. He returned in September 2009 to visit GKN Aerospace and in March 2010 His Royal Highness visited three Queen’s Award-winning Island businesses; PhysE Ltd, RF Engines Ltd and IFPL (Inflight Peripherals Ltd).
