Increasing Covid numbers leads to return of face coverings, says school

Due to a rise in the number of positive Covid tests reported to leaders at Christ the King College, pupils have been asked to resume wearing face coverings in school for the next two weeks.

A letter was sent to parents of pupils at Christ the King College (seen by News OnTheWight) at the end of last week (24th), explaining the thinking behind two new measures being introduced this week.

The letter reads,

“This is to reduce the risk of transmission and I ask for your support with this.

“Those who are exempt will follow the same procedures as previously.”

School assemblies will also be reverted back to virtual ones for the next couple of weeks.

School vaccinations
The letter also advises parents that on 5th October they hope to be able to offer both the Flu and Covid vaccinations.
