Island tech firm, Made by Hippo, pivotal in $1m investment

Congratulations to Isle of Wight digital design and development company Made by Hippo.

The company, led by Carl Crawley, were heavily involved in a US project that has led to $1m angel investment.

Linking consumers with Farmers Markets
Made by Hippo built the entire Website and infrastructure for Fresh Nation – a business model that hooks up Farmers Markets with food delivery.

Fresh Nation has mapped out all the Farmers Markers on a nationwide network and “plans to develop relationships with each farmers market, offering customer acquisition, order management, and home delivery as a service to these small, local merchants”.

Carl spoke to OnTheWight to explain further,

“We met Fresh Nation at a technology conference in the US that I was a speaker at three years ago.

“We started doing small bits for them, then took over all technology about a year ago.”

Living the digital lifestyle
Made by Hippo are not constrained by geographical borders, Carl says that 90% of his business is from European or US clients.
