Isle of Wight festival organisers have put out a request on their Facebook page for any festival goers yet to arrive on the Island by car to leave their vehicles at home and come by foot.
The appeal on their Facebook page has caused a mixture of responses (169 at last count) from festival goers and Islanders, ranging from many with anger about the situation, to others brushing the problems off and taking a more positive approach.
The Official Isle of Wight Festival Facebook page states, “If you are on the mainland we are advising people not to travel by car. There is a ferry service for foot passengers and this will be the easiest route. We are sorry for any disruptions caused.”
John Giddings announced this morning that more fields had been opened as car parks to help ease the flow of traffic.
