Isle of Wight Festival fans will already be well aware of the fact that Charlatans front man, Tim Burgess is curating the Sunday Big Top at this years festival.
It’s no surprise then that his very own band will be headlining the stage that day with what we hear is expected to be a “ground trembling performance certain to be a highlight of the weekend.”
Burgess has excelled with an eclectic mix of musicians and DJs to join him in the Big Top, starting with punk visionaries Killing Joke.
2009 sees the band reformed with the original lineup of Jaz Coleman, Kevin “Geordie” Walker, Martin “Youth” Glover and Paul Ferguson who, as well as playing IW Festival will be performing in London next week and All Tomorrows Parties Festival in May.
This should have them nicely warmed up for the festival crowd at Seaclose Park in June.
Killing Joke stalwarts should be mightily impressed with Burgess’ choice.
If you lost a few of the grey cells over the last 30 years and need reminding, here’s Killing Joke playing on The Tube back in 1984.
