One of the biggest national celebrations of British food is back on the calendar this year – and Island caterers are being encouraged to get involved.
Organisers of the 2022 British Food Fortnight are predicting this year’s event will be the biggest and most popular yet with communities and organisations across the country making plans to take part.
Seely: Something we should be eating and celebrating more
Isle of Wight Conservative MP, Bob Seely, is encouraging Island caterers to get involved in the celebrations this Autumn.
He said,
“British food, and indeed Isle of Wight food, is something we should be eating and celebrating more so I’m pleased we have this opportunity to do so through the 2022 British Food Fortnight.
“It would be great to see more British food sourced on Isle of Wight menus to support and celebrate our farmers and food producers.”
Seely: Make the switch in September to British food
Mr Seely is encouraging all caterers to take part including pubs, hotels, restaurants, cafes, takeaways, schools, care homes and visitor attractions.
“If you serve food in your establishment on the Island, I encourage you to make the switch in September to British food, and – even better – Isle of Wight ingredients where possible.”
When does it take place?
British Food Fortnight 2022 takes place from 17th September to 2nd October 2022.
