More news from Ventnor Community Projects – they have been busy bunnies – about the new Internet Cafe which opens in a couple of weeks time.
Thanks to funding from Global Grants, Awards For All and Ventnor Town Council, Ventnor Community Projects have been able to invest in I.T. equipment and install Broadband.
Computer courses for beginners start towards the end of February and will be covering computer basics, sending e-mails and surfing the net. These will be in small, friendly classes for 5 consecutive weeks and are free of charge.
The Internet Centre will be open at weekends, starting 17/18th February, from 11am to 4pm at 1, Albert Street, Ventnor. You can come and use the internet and send e-mails and there is the chance for new learners to practice their skills — a tutor is on hand for support and advice. There will be a small charge for the Internet Centre use.
For more information and to book a place on a computer course please phone Alison on 823826 or mob: 07976 009414. The first courses are already fully booked, but bookings are being taken for those starting after Easter.
They’re also looking at the viability of creating a Rosetta Stone Language Lab using interactive CD ROMS. Contact Rob Chuter for more information on 853216.
