Thanks to Anna Murray for getting in touch with news from the Wightlink Tigers.
She tells us that at last night’s home game, two Island hockey legends hung up their hockey sticks for the last time.
The first was one of the biggest names in ice hockey on the Island, Jason Coles, having senior positions (both on and off the ice) within both the Wightlink Raiders and more recently the Wightlink Tigers.
Also hanging up his hockey gear for the last time this weekend was Tony Blaize.
He’s been a household name for the majority of time that hockey has been on the Island, like Jason, he also played for both Wightlink Raiders and Wightlink Tigers.
We’re sure the fans will join us in wishing both the players the best of the luck to the future.
