Completing the series of four exhibitors at VentnorBlog Presents … is Island photographer, Julian Winslow.
Born, living and working on the Wight, Julian is a passionate freelance photographer, and you’re sure to have seen his work around the Island in exhibitions and for many of the Island publications.
His subjects are wide ranging. If you were to ask him what they were, he’d be thinking ‘light is always the subject’ but wouldn’t actually say it, unless you fed him a few pints of ‘Ventnor golden’.
Busy little bee
He’s been ‘Bestival’ photographer for the last three years and has worked for Island clients including Ventnor Botanic Garden, Island 2000, Jackson Analogue, Liz Earle Cosmetics and Taste of the Wight magazine (of which hopefully there will be copies available at the show).
Via ‘Ableimages’, Julian works for international image libraries including Getty Images and Corbis and is one of three photographers shooting under the banner of Ableimages for it’s new exclusive rights managed collection which is represented globally.
Landscapes on show
The work that Julian is exhibiting could be termed broadly as landscape, and attempts to transfer the painterly style seen in his plant portraits to the wider vision.
All the images are taken of the south side of the Island or at least looking in that direction.
We hope you’ll make it along at the weekend between noon-4pm.
