Thanks to Rachel for sharing details of these new support cafes. Ed
The Island Neurological Network (INN), is launching a series of pop-up cafes, across the Isle of Wight to support individuals affected by long-term neurological conditions, their families, carers and interested professionals.
Through Community Action Isle of Wight, INN has secured funding from My Life, A Full Life, to provide a series of locally based drop-in Cafes serving local communities across the Island.
Dr Annette Scivier, Chair of the INN Committee said,
“Neurological illnesses can have a devastating affect on the whole family and having access to support and help can make a huge difference to their day to day lives. We hope that by bringing the community together we can highlight the help available and identify any gaps.”
The cafes will have a series of speakers from local support groups and services, free refreshments, information and advice and a chance to chat to volunteers from INN and other people with similar experiences.
First cafe
The first cafe will be open from 10:30 to 12:30 on Thursday 14th April 2016 at Wootton Bridge Community Centre, Brannon Way, Wootton Bridge.
