Will you mask up in a few places to protect cancer patients, organ transplant recipients, and people with immune/autoimmune conditions who have a weak or no immune system, and the vaccines didn’t work for them?
Because scientists don’t know quite yet whether or not vaccinated people who become infected with Covid-19 can pass the virus on to vulnerable people. We also don’t know yet how long our own vaccinations will last.
Keep mask wearing and social distancing in certain spaces
How is the government planning to protect these truly vulnerable people in important places they need to go to, like surgeries, hospitals, chemists, grocery shops, and public transport, after they lift restrictions?
Couldn’t the government still require mask wearing and social distancing in these very few places where these very extremely vulnerable people absolutely must go?
Help keep them safe
MANY people who are still vulnerable to Covid-19, through no fault of their own, need your help to keep them healthy and alive.
You wearing a mask protects the vulnerable people from catching Covid-19; the masks do not protect them well. We are at the complete mercy of everyone else around them to keep them safe.
Genuine concerns
They are not the ‘anti-vaxxers’ (against vaccines); many have taken the vaccine, hoping that they may build some small amount of antibodies but many have not succeeded.
They are not ‘paranoid’ or irrationally ‘anxious‘ about the virus. They have a genuine concern.
Far from over
The pandemic is far from over for the immunocompromised; the Delta virus is 14 times more contagious than the flu and three times as deadly.
Yesterday, an FT story reported that the Pfizer vaccine is only 64 per cent effective halting Covid-19, instead of the 94 per cent previously thought.
You could pass this virus on to others not even knowing you’re contagious. You can’t identify most of us by sight as many of us look healthy.
Keep a few rules to help the vulnerable
Will the government please help these people by keeping of a few rules which help the vulnerable but do not have a negative economic impact in place?
And, please, will you all please help us live?
