We’ve had reports of a serious accident at the bottom of Horsebridge Hill in Newport, which has lead to Medina Way being closed in both directions.
VentnorBlog reader Garth tells us that “no traffic is heading towards Cowes from the main roundabout. Both lanes are shut so you can’t get to hospital from either direction.”
UPDATE [10:35:29] – This just in from the hospital
Both entrances in to St. Mary’s Hospital are open (entrance from Parkhurst Road and Dodnor) however parts of Parkhurst Road north from Forest Road and Medina Way are closed. People travelling from Cowes are able to access the hospital via the front entrance however people travelling from Newport may need to use the entrance off Dodnor Induustrial Estate.
We are not aware of any delays in people attending St. Mary’s Hospital this morning for appointments due to the road closures.
We’re following up with St Mary’s and the police and will update you when we get more details.
Thanks to Garth of the story lead and photo.
