WTE at Robin Hill by Richard Cattle

Meet Chief, the white-tailed eagle, who is still just a tiny bit too shy to put on a show

This magnificent white-tailed eagle (WTE), named Chief, is a resident at Robin Hill’s falconry centre. Even though he might not look it, born at the start of 2021 in Scotland, Chief is still a juvenile bird and has a whopping wingspan of 7.5ft.

Our thanks to Richard Cattle for sharing these photos below of Chief, who has been training with Robin Hill’s Head Falconer, Charlie.

They say Chief has a very gentle demeanour and according to Richard was just a bit too shy to put on a show on Saturday when he shot these photos (see below).

Twenty-five white-tailed eagles have been released on the Isle of Wight as part of the re-introduction project to return the wild birds back to Island.
