Monkton Arts Prize: Shortlisted pieces on display in Ryde

50 shortlisted pieces of artwork from over 150 entries to the Annual Monkton Arts Prize, all from Isle of Wight artists and in various mediums and styles, are currently on display in the Acons Gallery at Monkton Arts, Ryde. 

Founded in 2019, this is the second year the competition has been hosted by the local arts centre.

Your vote counts
The ‘People’s Choice’ prize is awarded to the exhibit with the most number of votes so remember to stop by and make your choice between Friday 19th or Monday 22nd (weekdays, 10.30am-4pm).

Final prizes are as follows:

  • 1st Prize: £1,000
  • 2nd Prize: £500
  • 3rd Prize: £250
  • Emerging Artist Award: £100
  • People’s Choice Award: Tatty Devine Voucher
  • Highly Commended Awards

Winners announced on Monday
The winners will be publicly announced during an official event for the shortlisted artists on Monday 22nd August at 6.30pm,  with the event being Live Streamed on their publicly accessible Facebook page

This year’s panel of judges include Nick Martin, Robin McInnes, Alex Williams, Sandy Kendall and Andrew Hird (last year’s First Prize winner). 

The prize sponsors include Proteus Group, Indigo Graphics, Tatty Devine and Friends of Monkton Arts (FOMA) and kind donors. 

Where and when
Monkton Arts can be found at 11 East Street, Ryde and is open Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 4pm.

The exhibition runs until 26th August 2022.
