Mungo Jerry Plays Cowes Week

Did you know that ‘In the Summertime’ by Mungo Jerry is 40 years old this year?

Mungo Jerry Plays Cowes WeekNeither did we but it certainly makes us feel old.

If you saw Mungo Jerry at the Garlic Festival back in 2007, you’ll know that these days the band only consists of singer song writer, Ray Dorset.

Next month Ray will be heading across the water once again, this time to perform live on on The Gill Stage in the Cowes Yacht Haven on Friday 6th August.

He’ll be joining Doctor and the Medics, R&B star Aaron Soul and Navi and the world’s top Michael Jackson tribute who’ll all be performing in the Haven over the course of the week.

If you can’t wait until then to hear the classic ‘In the Summertime’, check out this video of Mungo Jerry back in 1970.

Thanks for replying. Got ya now. For me, Cedar Lodge development is just another nail in the coffin. Too many people not prepared to comment because of the owner – but I’d rather see the terraces that make Ventnor unique than another building.
