Newport Christmas Fair: Appeal For Singers

We know there are many singers amongst the VB readership, so hopefully some of you might be able to come to the rescue of the Newport Parish Council. Ed

Newport Christmas Fair: Appeal For SingersWe are now unfortunately without a choir/carol singers to end our Christmas Fair. We have the Minster and the mince pies all ready but no singers!

We are appealing for singing group or school choir who are available on Saturday 20th November from approx 5pm to 5.45pm to contact Maxine on 297367.

What’s in store
The Fair starts at 1.30pm in St Thomas Square with Medina Marching Band coming up from the Quay.

Santa will arrive at 2pm in a 1934 Bentley Tourer (weather permitting) kindly loaned and driven by Mr Alan Milband.

David Randini is performing a magic show in Charter House from 3pm. Carisbrooke Jazz Band will play from around 3.30pm.

We have a covered market throughout the afternoon with a wide variety of local craft items and produce, there will also be craft making for the children.

IW Radio are bringing their road show form 4pm to 5pm outside the Guildhall and will perform the lights switch on.

To end the afternoon we hoped to have carols and mince pies in the Minster – hence the plea.
